Corporate Finance
The Houlihan Lokey Corporate Finance business has extensive expertise in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, activist shareholder and takeover defense, and other related advisory services for a broad range of clients. In addition, we have the proven ability to engineer and execute financing solutions that are essential for growth and success and offer access to financing in the public and alternative capital markets through the issuance of debt, equity, or hybrid securities.
In EMEA, we work with a wide spectrum of companies, from mid-market privately owned enterprises to large multinational organizations. With a growing EMEA platform with nearly 400 Corporate Finance bankers in offices across the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Sweden, Spain, Israel, the Netherlands and Dubai we have the breadth and targeted expertise to provide exceptional client service.
Capital Markets
Our Capital Markets Group operates within the Corporate Finance business and is one of the firm’s fastest growing practices. As trusted advisors, we have the proven ability to engineer and execute financing solutions that are essential for growth and success. We offer access to financing in the public and alternative capital markets through the issuance of debt, equity, or hybrid securities. In EMEA, the team is a rapidly growing team, advising clients on the origination, structuring, and execution of private and public debt financings across numerous industries.
The Equity Private Placements team focuses on providing equity solutions, including growth capital and structured equity, for the firm’s corporate and financial-sponsor-backed clients in the region.
Responsibilities
As an Associate, you will:
- work side-by-side with a talented, dedicated staff of senior professionals who will provide broad exposure to the many different considerations affecting public and private equity financings
- Assist with evaluating and structuring customized financing alternatives for private equity and corporate clients
- Gain hands-on transaction experience by playing an integral role on deal teams from the initial pitch through closing
- Develop general corporate finance and valuation skills relevant to raising capital, while building a detailed understanding of key developments in the debt and equity capital markets; and
- Interact with a broad range of businesses across different industries and with unique capital needs

Qualifications
The ideal candidate would possess the following qualities and background:
- Three years of relevant work experience in similar roles within equity capital markets and investment banking. Experience in private placements preferable
- Top academic performer and a quick learner capable of performing in an unstructured environment
- Proven accounting, finance, financial modeling, and analytical abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff
- Very strong work ethic and careful attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and a proven self-starter
