ABOUT HYA TRAINING
HYA Training is an award-winning, post-16 registered Independent Training Provider delivering a variety of education and training provision to people over the age of 16.
The company operates out of a single site, situated 10 minutes away from the city centre and predominantly serves residents in Hull and surrounding areas with some small out-of-area delivery.
We predominantly deliver government-funded provision under the Department for Education (DfE) in the following areas:
- 16-18 Study Programme
- Apprenticeships
- Adult Education Budget (AEB) subcontract
We also have a commercial contract with the University of Hull, delivering maths and English provision.
HYA Training is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hull-based charity Humberside Youth Association.
Our provider is Ofsted inspected and is a ‘Good’ provider as last inspected in July 2017. We hold the Matrix standard, Cyber Essentials Certificate and are a Disability Confident Employer.

THE VACANCY
We are seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced Learning and Development Tutor specifically to deliver Health and Social Care related qualifications from Level 1 to Level 3 to students across our Study Programme and Adult Education Budget contracts.
Although not essential, we welcome applications from candidates who have previous experience in delivering to students aged 16 and over on the Study Programme or Adult Education Budget.
We are keen to hear from candidates who have strong occupational competence in Health and
Social Care. This could be as a Nurse, Nurse Associate, Healthcare Assistant, Care Worker, Social
Worker or equivalent. We understand that you may not necessarily be a qualified teacher and we are willing to support successful candidates through the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher apprenticeship standard.
The role will be delivering teaching, learning and assessment in Health and Social Care related qualifications to groups of students aged 16 or over.
We operate between the hours of 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and finish at 4.00pm on
Fridays, with some evening delivery on Mondays and Wednesdays.
The Health and Social Care sector is a priority area, with a government target to recruit 50,000 nurses by 2024. Teaching at HYA Training is hugely rewarding and an opportunity to make a positive contribution. Working with our students, delivering qualifications which help support them in their next steps to progress in the Health and Social Care sector.
The post holder will support our enrolment and induction activities, plan and deliver sessions, undertake periodic progress reviews and ensure marking and feedback is up to date and that it provides opportunities for student growth.
Furthermore, the employee will take part in organisation-wide meetings and be pivotal in helping shape the future delivery of Health and Social Care.
Sessions delivered will be fun, practical, and engaging and will recognise the individual starting points of students. The Learning and Development Tutor will be able to complete the necessary paperwork in a timely manner and will be able to form positive and professional relationships with our stakeholders, including students.
