Job description
Following the recent announcement by The Ministry of Justice on the launch of the Turnaround Programme, we have an exciting opportunity within the Youth Justice Service for a Turnaround Support Worker to develop our work with children at risk of offending.
The Turnaround Programme will work with children on the cusp of the youth justice system and within our existing early intervention frameworks. The programme will use interventions that are relationship based, include positive activities and outdoor pursuits and build resilience within family networks. We are looking for three dynamic individuals who will bring knowledge and understanding of holistic assessments to ensure we put the right intervention in place for children and families. You will have a good understanding of the local Early Help offer and the support available to children and families in third sector and voluntary community organisations. You will have a proven track record in partnership working and be able to work across agencies to ensure that children’s needs are met. If you are passionate about working with children and young people and have a creative approach to direct work, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of something new and innovative.
The post is fixed term for two years. Successful practitioners will need to travel to support children and families to develop positive links within their own communities. The programme will be countywide and workers will be based with our locality Youth Justice Teams in Camborne, St Austell or Bodmin.
