Job description

We seek a qualified and licensed Turkish Tax Law Specialist to join our dynamic team. We specialize in assisting Turkish and international clients with legal and tax matters, and we are looking to expand our Turkish client base both in Turkey and within Turkish-owned businesses in the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on tax matters and assess their tax liabilities.
  • Provide guidance on Customs Law and related taxation regulations.
  • Resolve commercial law disputes between TR-based businesses and clients.
  • Advise clients on Corporation Law for opening a TR Branch or an independent new company.
  • Assist clients with execution and insolvency law to resolve receivables-related troubles.
  • Provide advice and assistance on bankruptcy and insolvency matters.
  • Advise clients on Turkish Tax Law, particularly for real estate investors.
  • Assist clients with conveyancing for the purchase of real estate in Turkey.
  • Consult on Contract Law for securing contracts and agreements with TR-based companies.
  • Offer consultation on Social Security Law for Turkish clients benefiting from their UK work in terms of retirement in Turkey.
  • Examine accounts of industrial, commercial, and other establishments to determine tax liability and make necessary adjustments.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax law and precedent.
  • Discuss disputed cases with accountants and specialists.
  • Represent clients or employers in contested claims before tax officials or independent tribunals.
  • Advise clients on Distant Selling and International Accountancy Transactions Assistance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Tax Law, preferably specializing in Turkish Tax Law.
  • Qualified and regulated lawyer.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in OSR regime, EC Sales, Turkish/EU VAT, and online/distant selling regulations.
  • Familiarity with Turkish customs declarations and HMRC requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to make sound decisions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and work under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships effectively.
  • Proficiency in Excel and general accounting practices.
  • Positive team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Additional language skills for liaising with Turkish authorities (advantageous).
  • Experience with Turkish Tax laws or living in Turkey/EU (advantageous).
