Ref: HGV//07/23 / Permanent / Full Time
Hours: PM Shift (3pm start) Monday to Friday
Base Location: Duncrue Street, Belfast
We are currently looking for HGV Drivers: Category ‘C’ to join our busy teams at our site in Duncrue Street, Belfast. As a driver you will be required to complete multi drop deliveries and collections throughout NI. The driver will also be required to collect and move commercial containers when required.
As an evening shift driver, you will start at 3.00pm on Monday to Friday, with Saturdays as and when required (*start time will be earlier on a Saturday).
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure excellent customer service skills that support the RiverRidge brand
- Ensure Health and Safety adherence at all times
- Complete vehicle checks in line with Operating licence procedures, reporting any defects to the Transport Office (both electronically and verbally)
- Follow all regulations relating to driver’s hours and safe operation of heavy goods vehicles
- Working collaboratively with the transport team to ensure excellent operational service is maintained, and continually improved
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Undertake all necessary training, and cooperate with the security clearance process as required
- Any other duties as delegated by the Transport Department
Essential Criteria
- Must hold a valid HGV licence – Category ‘C’
- Must hold a Digital Tachograph card and Full Driver CPC
- Full UK driving licence (Max of six penalty points)
- Minimum of six months HGV driving experience
- Ability to undertake manual work
- Flexible approach to working hours is required in relation to finish times, weekends, and bank holidays
- Excellent customer service skills
- Team player
- Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Good knowledge of driver’s hours, rules, and regulations
Desirable Criteria
- Minimum of one year’s HGV driving experience
- Previous experience working in the waste industry

- Competitive hourly rate – £15.83ph (evening shift)

- Overtime rate of time and a half (£23.74ph) for hours worked over 45 hours Monday to Friday
