Job Title - Middleweight Designer
Department – Design
Reports to – Design Lead
Location – Office based
We are looking for an experienced middleweight designer to join our expanding team at Absolute Commercial Interiors. With a role alongside a wider team of design and build experts, you will have a hand in shaping exciting spaces across the commercial, hospitality and healthcare sectors. Main responsibilities and duties:
- Meet with clients to establish and develop briefs
- Conduct measured surveys and site visits
- Liaise with wider team such as sales, project managers, furniture department as well as sub-contractors and suppliers
- Produce high level general arrangements, look and feel documents, presentations and visuals
- Deliver presentations and pitches to clients with view to winning work
- Design in a manner compliant with UK building control
- Produce working drawing packs ahead of projects going to site
- Support on-site delivery, liaising with sub-contractors as required
- Identify and support in areas of improvement as part of the Absolute Team
- Commitment to developing your work as part of a supportive team
- Attend industry events and lectures
What we’re looking for:
- A confident, creative designer with an interest in commercial design
- Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture essential
- Good understanding of RIBA process and seeing projects through from concept to completion
- A can-do attitude and ability to work under own initiative
- Proven experience in commercial or hospitality design setting with transferable skillset essential
- Excellent working knowledge in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, SketchUp, Microsoft Office
- Rendering software experience advantageous
- Strong hand sketching skills advantageous
- Experience working on multiple projects at a time in a fast paced environment
- Good organisational skills and time management
- Full UK Driving license essential
