An award-winning large Holstein dairy herd, milked three times a day through a rotary parlour. This is a farm with exceptional performance statistics and one that has benefitted from regular investment in new dairy technology.
The Opportunity: To become a key member of a professional dairy farm team, looking after a high performing herd of Holstein cattle. You will primarily be responsible for feeding the dairy herd using a specialist, self propelled feeding system. You will be given full training on this specialist machinery. The successful candidate will demonstrate a keen willingness to learn and the versatility to apply themselves to other general farm work when not on feeding tasks. A regular shift pattern is adhered to on the farm to allow regular time off for every member of staff.
Skills/Experience Required:
Essential
- Previous experience of working on a dairy unit
- Experience of driving a telehandler
- Able to work as part of a team
- Able to maintain farm machinery
- Good communication skills
- The ability to demonstrate initiative
- Must be able to work to a high standard in a fast paced environment, and maintain a clean, tidy working area
Remuneration: A competitive hourly rate, plus accommodation on site if required.
