Job Purpose
We have an immediate vacancy for a Reach and Counterbalance Forklift Driver to operate in our warehouse. Reporting to the Production Manager this role will involve Reach and Counterbalance forklift driving and providing a supply of goods in and out of the production facility.
The Role
This role requires an individual with warehouse and Reach and Counterbalance Forklift experience with a can-do and flexible attitude. You will take on overall responsibility of the day to day running of the warehouse with support from the Production Manager and Supervisor.
You will be responsible for:
- Moving stock around the warehouse using Reach and Counterbalance trucks as required
- Picking of raw materials for the production facility (including lifting and stacking 25Kg sacks)
- Goods receiving and inspection of incoming materials and placing into locations
- Palletising, wrapping, loading and dispatching orders
- Efficiently organising and maintaining a manual warehouse system
- Stock taking
- Monitoring stock levels and liaising closely with the Purchasing department
The person
The ideal candidates for this role will be:
- Experienced in operating a Reach and Counterbalance FLT in a warehouse environment with a valid licence
- Experience using automated software, ERP systems would be useful although full training will be given
- Able to work accurately and efficiently with a strong quality focus
- This role can be physically demanding and involve heavy lifting and applicants should be capable and comfortable with this
- Ability to learn quickly and work on own initiative
- Self-motivated and target driven with the ability to work independently
- Adhering to Health & Safety procedures and good working practices
- Awareness of Food safety and Quality Management systems would be an advantage
- Experience of an ERP system would be an advantage
