Our client is the leading Kitchen Furniture manufacturer in the UK and require HGV CE drivers for night work to distribute their products using curtain side trailers for their 2023/24 Summer, Christmas, January and New Year sales volumes.
Night drivers will carry out trunk runs taking products to satellite distribution centers around the UK. There may also be backloads to return with.
PAY RATES :
Night work Monday to Friday is paid at £ 16.66 per hour, increasing to £18.04 after 12 weeks
Night weekend work is paid at £20.82 per hour, increasing to £22.54 after 12 weeks
Night drivers are paid a shift allowance of £13.04 per night.
Night out allowance is £ 27.00 per night.
All breaks are paid and you are guaranteed a minimum 8 hours paid per shift.
33 days holiday accrual a year (pro rata)
An induction is required prior to starting work. The induction requires 2 days attendance. Day 1 is approximately 4 – 6 hours starting with some visual material related to driving skill & hazard awareness, health and safety and tachograph and highway code knowledge followed by a short driving assessment. You will be paid for the hours you are attending the induction on day 1, on day 2 you will carry out a typical day driver’s work of multi drop deliveries, 2 to 3 in total, to the clients outlet depots. This will be paid for hours done but guaranteed minimum 8 hour payment is in place.
In October drivers will be expected to work 2 weekends and day drivers to do a night out.
Applicants must be well experienced and competent drivers in the use of articulated class 1 vehicles and curtain sider trailer equipment and must have held their CE entitlement for at least 1 year with active driving throughout that period. Very good strapping skills are required for this role.
