Trespass and Welfare Officer role: permenant
You will be provided with training to enable you to carry out your role, you will be provided with uniform and must be comfortable with working outdoors.
The role is flexible with days but all shifts are 1400 to 2200, with a paid break allocated during your shift, the role is at train stations and you will be working on the platforms, therefore this is an outside role, we do of course provide you with coat,hat,gloves etc to keep you warm. There may be at times the opportunity to work on weekends for overtime and there are times during the year that the timings may change for the role, this can be discussed at interview. This role will be to cover ad-hoc shifts across a couple of locations and these are, Woking, West Byfleet, Byfleet and New Haw Area, these are all train stations.
Your primary duties are as follows:
- Patrol train station platforms.
- Engage with members of the public.
- Using your training look out for early warning signs that someone is feeling distressed or vulnerable.
- Provide customer assistance to persons travelling, this may include giving directions, assisting a passenger with their luggage, or helping someone board a train using a ramp.
The role we provide to our client is to look out for vulnerable persons and act swiftly to ensure that persons do not attempt to go on or near the live railway tracks, there will be times where you will need to contact the Railway Signaller to request that the power to the tracks is switched off if someone jumps onto the track.
Whilst we have tried to include parts of the role above, we also want you to know we do provide full training so anything in the above that doesnt sound familiar, dont worry we will provide you with this training and make sure you know what you are doing prior to being left to work on your own.
Skills you need prior to starting:
- Have worked in a customer facing role previously.
- A willingness to learn.
- Able to visit our Office in Highams Park E4 9HH or Brookwood Surrey to attend training, there are also external courses provided over online learning platforms so access to a computer with camera and microphone/speakers. (we can support if you do not have a computer)
- Must be over 18
- Must be able to reach work for your start time and return home again at the finsih time.
