Job description
Looking for a career at Lincolnshire County Council? Want to be part of a team that delivers innovative passenger transport solutions whilst working in a fast paced and dynamic team? Looking for a rewarding role? Then we want to hear from you!
About the Role
As a Travel Options Officer you will be focusing on giving young people the opportunity and confidence to travel on their own, by foot or using our public transport network, to education settings across the county, to enable them more freedom as they progress through life. You will be trained to deliver one to one travel training and group programmes at schools as well as being an advocate of all things transport in Lincolnshire. As part of a team, and a well planned approach, you will cover the whole county and should expect to meet many exciting individuals along the way giving you that rewarding feeling at the end of each day. Your own transport is necessary to allow a hybrid approach to working predominantly remotely across the county, from home and from our Lincoln office.
This is a full time role with variable working hours depending on your work load. A typical day will see you undertaking pre-planned travel training with pupils to and from their education setting, so you will need to be available prior to the beginning of a school day and at the end so you can travel with the individuals. During the day you will be making travel plans for your other clients, liaising with schools, parents and partner organisations to promote independent travel, whilst communicating with the wider, dynamic, lively team within Transport Services.
About the team
Lincolnshire County Council is transforming its Transport Services Team, and we’re looking for people who want to be a part of our exciting future! It’s a lively, dynamic, and growing team delivering vital services that get the County moving.

We enable passengers to travel to and from school and other places of education, for social care reasons and we provide a demand responsive CallConnect bus service to connect communities across the county.
The team also manages the county’s local bus and community transport network, alongside supporting the development of Sustainable Travel.
