The Person
Are you a Driver at the top of your game, but looking for something more rewarding such as working for a social enterprise organisation?
Do you have a Class 2 Licence, or working towards a Class 2 Licence, and looking for a new challenge?
Part of your role will be to go out on the vans with the team and be involved with the installation projects but there will be times regularly when you will be office based supporting management too.
The Purpose
To actively work alongside the Operations Manager in the requirements and management of the FRC Group Operators Licences
To act as a support and mentor to all Liverpool Driving Change trainees, setting them a great example, providing encouragement and support, and helping trainees working towards their LGV Class II Licence to prepare for their practical instruction.
Key Responsibilities
· Welcome new trainees into the team and assist with the recruitment and induction of trainees
· Carry out driving assessments on all new trainee drivers to ensure competency to drive FRC Group vehicles and carry out ongoing driving assessments to prepare trainee drivers for LGV instruction and test
· Where required, provide theory-training support and provide tachograph training
· Gain feedback on the trainees performance and work positively to help to gain the skills they need to be a successful team member
· Attend People and Learning meetings and work with the People and Learning Team to assist with any issues that individuals may have
· Lead trainee disciplinary meetings with the support of the People and Learning Team when required
· Work alongside all FRC Group drivers to ensure that daily vehicle checks are completed on a daily basis
· Compile/download manual and digital tachograph records for all drivers
· Working with the Operations Manager, to ensure that all scheduled vehicle and machinery inspections are completed and defects are reported and dealt with immediately
· When required, to allocate vehicles and staff to tasks
· Carry out driving assessment on all core drivers
· Carry out accident investigations as a member of the Health and Safety Committee
· Ensure staff are adequately trained in the safe loading and unloading of vehicles and deliver training where required
· Ensure staff are adequately trained in Banksman guidelines and are actively using a banksman in their duties and deliver training where required
· Responsible for ensuring the accurate issue, secure handling, and return of all vehicle keys, fuel cards, sat navs, company issued electronic devices, documentation and mobile phones
· Key holder with the responsibility of the safe opening up and locking up and securing of company buildings when required to do so
· You will work a defined 5 days a week pattern which may include some over nights but DOES NOT include weekends. Here at FRC we understand how important family life is, and appreciate that in the week our drivers are supporting individuals and family’s all over the country therefore on the weekend need the ability to focus on their own. That’s a 40 hour week, Monday to Friday, providing clear structure to hopefully help you to plan your life around work more easily.
Other Duties
· Set and monitor KPIs/milestones for all team members
· Conduct Annual Performance Appraisal (Catch UPs) with each team member
· Review Staff Action Plans every 3 months
· Have sufficient meetings with your team – this means having a meeting with your team every other day and monthly with meeting documents headlined and stored
· Hold sufficient 121s with your team members
· Lead the development of your team and yourself
· Provide constructive feedback to your team
· Complete back to work reviews in the manager absence
· Record all sickness in managers absence
· Deal with all performance/attitude issues
· Support and champion your team
· Raise resource issues
· Monitor and always seek to improve health and safety within your team

· Experience of mentoring people
· Experience of carrying out driving assessments
· Supervisory experience
· Experience of providing constructive feedback to individuals
· Ability to deal with situations when challenged.
· Experience in allocating vehicles and staff to tasks
Qualifications
· Full Driving Licence (Clean) - Driving experience is essential
LVG Class 2 Licence
The Package

You’ll also have a good knowledge of transport legislation and tachographs, be reliable, responsible and used to working in a fast-paced environment, ideally with multi drop experience and ideally previous experience of installing goods.
