What you’ll be doing
This is a fantastic opportunity to embark on the next level of your career as a Transport Supervisor. As Transport Supervisor you will support the Transport Manager where you will both work in unison to successfully manage the day to day running of our logistics centre which is a centralised operation, providing a single point of contact for our operational business.

You will work as part of the Logistic Delivery team which operates a fleet of Potable Water Tankers to support both reactive and planned work. You will be joining a team that carries out the essential delivery of water to our customers. Your role will be to maintain consistently high standards and reliability across the team of drivers and vehicles. The Transport Supervisor role sits within Logistics Delivery operation that supports the business in providing a cost-effective way of delivering water and other logistics solutions through the driving and operating of LGV and HGV vehicles. Your key duties will include:

  • Managing driver performance and being the main point of contact to ensure all driving requirements across the team of drivers is managed and delivered
  • Providing initial training, periodic assessments and relevant refresher training to ensure all drivers to ensure they are aware and adhering to current legislation
  • Ensuring vehicles are compliant, ready for use and any defects are recorded and actioned
  • Ensuring the safe and secure loading and unloading of vehicles, through appropriate training and checks
  • Ensuring compliance with transport legislation, including drivers’ hours regulations and Working Time Directive in line with the ‘O’ licence legislation and company procedures
  • Maintaining a safe and fuel-efficient approach to driving, in order to minimise the risk to yourself, your team and other road users, and to optimise vehicle running costs
  • Being accountable for the safe and secure parking of vehicles in your charge

Job Details

  • £46,970 per annum
  • Based at our Farmoor site in Oxford but will be required to attend other sites
  • 45 hours per week, Monday to Sunday
  • Rota: 1 week of days and 1 week of nights on rotating pattern 5 on, 3 off, 4 on, 4 off
  • Company Van provided


We’re looking for you to

  • Hold a full valid UK Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence and have experience driving LGVs & HGVs
  • Hold a full valid Driver CPC and Driver Tachograph card
  • Have no more than 6 penalty points and no DR or IN convictions on your licence
  • Be happy working on a rotational shift pattern including days and nights
  • Have previous experience of managing a team of drivers and their performance
  • Have extensive knowledge of driving and operating tankers
  • Demonstrate clear knowledge of Transport law and the Road Traffic Act
  • Have working knowledge of Drivers Hours‘ rules and Working Time regulations
