Transport Supervisor
We are looking for Transport Supervisor to join our brand-new distribution site based in Aylesbury (HP22)
- 40 hours per week
- Permanent position
- Monday to Friday…no weekend working
- Working a set shift of 14:00 – 22:30
- No bank holiday working required

Our new distribution site is Brand New and will be our state-of-art flagship site for the UK operation, as the site is new you will really be able to make this job your own, from managing the team of drivers to customer management and everything in between.
Transport Supervisor role starts from September 2022 – Site opens in November 2022
As a Transport Supervisor , you will oversee the shift operation, you will supervise a team of up to 15 colleagues & Drivers , work alongside the Warehouse manager to monitor deliveries & deadlines, coach drivers to improving driving style to drive cost efficiencies and control all deliveries to ensure customers get deliveries on time every time to achieve distribution greatness
As a Transport supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the transport team supervise and lead the drivers to drive fulfilment rates and provide training and coaching to ensure service level targets are consistently achieved.
You will need to come from a Transport background, solid experience of supervising drivers & planners to deliver against SLA , good understanding of inductions & coaching alongside a drive & passion to be part of a new site set up.
Transport Supervisor : The Role;
- Monitor performance, drive improvement and resolve challenges and issues as they arise.
- Deliver customer expectations within defined SLA ‘s to continuously improve
- Manage Logistics policy and procedure to motivate, lead & develop staff to achieve objectives
- Continually strive for continuous improvement
- Exhibit strong technical & operational experience to ensure transport operations are tightly controlled on a next day and same day service offering
- Assist with the management of Microlise, Paragon and FORS compliance and accreditation within the Region.
- Lead Health & Safety standards within transport, ensure compliance with H&S Policy and seek out further performance improvement.
- Review all Key Performance Indicators, with regards to miles, drops, postcodes, costs then take prompt and appropriate action to correct any shortfalls in those areas.
- Drive year on year improvement to include improving MPG & driving style through detailed use of Microlise, reduction in vehicle damage and improved driver productivity inclusive of scheduled worked and driver performance.
- Allocate workload efficiently across the team to obtain the best overall outcome.
- Develop & manage relationships with customers and 3rd parties to deliver in line with service level agreements.
- Ensures that daily work schedules for the Drivers are appropriately prepared and executed.
- Manage transport paperwork in line with Rexel site operating procedures and audit requirements.
- Ensure that the equipment and PPE necessary for Drivers are available and maintained to the required standards.
- Control and monitor costs within your area of responsibility
Transport Supervisor : The Person;
- Proven background and/or knowledge of transport operations
- Must have you CPC & Driving licence
- Must have previous management/supervisory skills, commercial awareness and experience working towards KPI’s and within a budget.
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- A good knowledge and understanding of road transport legislation including Tachographs
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
