Transport Supervisor
Days - Monday to Friday
Hours – 07:30 – 17:30 (50 hours)
Salary – £34,424 - £36,500
We are currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to work in our busy transport department, someone who is driven, focused, customer orientated as well as commercially & industry aware.
You will be responsible for supporting the operations manager in the management of a dynamic transport team, helping to take the business forward as well as furthering your own career through a period of growth.
A hands-on approach is a must to work alongside our drivers and therefore experience in a similar field is essential for this role.
Our ideal candidate must be able to work independently and as a key part of our existing transport team. Strong planning and organisational skills are a must along with excellent time and work management.
What you’ll do
- Consistently lead a team of drivers by example.
- mentor, engage and develop your team to be high performing at all times, as well as achieving company vision.
- Track and report on performance for the transport team.
- manage sickness and absence.
- review and log driver infringements.
- manage driver tachographs.
- engage and build positive working relationships with internal and external partners.
Required
- Previous experience at managing a team.
- An understanding and relevant knowledge regarding transport compliance.
- Geographical knowledge
- Able to plan and prioritise workload
· IT skills; journey planning software, Microsoft, email.
- Strong communication skills
