The Traffic and Transportation Group manages a wide range of services and functions across Derby’s busy transport network, these include passenger transport, traffic control, traffic engineering, parking services, Cycle Derby, highways development control, sustainable travel and transport planning. The Highways and Transportation Capital and Revenue Programme, managed by the Traffic and Transportation Section plays a key part in the delivery of these services.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Transport Planner to join the Traffic and Transportation Team, to increase our transport planning skill base, to assist in the preparation of the annual Highways & Transport work programme, develop sustainable transport policies and strategies, and consider the impact of new development on the transport network. There will also be the opportunity to get involved in the investigation, design and implementation of traffic and transport schemes within the wider Traffic and Transportation Group.
You will have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s or above and/or have recent relevant or demonstrable experience working in a transport planning/engineering or related field.
The post offers the opportunity to progress through the career grade commensurate with the duties outlined in the job description.
