RJS Recruitment are working on behalf of a well-established Transport business who offer its customers various services to suit all transportation requirements. The Felixstowe based company is experiencing rapid growth and requires a Transport Planner with experience in container movement.
As the Transport Planner, you will be involved in controlling approx 25 container trucks. You will support the planner department to ensure a high standard of service is kept across the team. This role will provide you with significant opportunity to be challenged and rewarded through the delivery of providing a high-quality service in a rapidly growing company.
Job Specifics
- Data entry of orders, activities and the ability to adjust schedules when needed
- Preparing concise, well-written reports
- Attending meetings with the teams and public authorities
- Liaise with customers on specific requirements and needs to their business
- Be proactive in customer queries and resolve issues via phone, email, or face to face
- Monitor and action any e-mails received and ensuring paperwork is actioned and completed promptly
- Contribute to the site health and safety initiatives, offer ideas in meetings and briefings
- Provide quotes and dealing with any issues from drivers and customers
- Work alongside the transport team to ensure the customer expectations are exceeded
- Manage own time, planning and performance on a day-to-day basis
Candidate Profile
- Must have knowledge of the container transport industry at least 2 years
- Ideally have knowledge of TOPs planning system ( not essential)
- Familiar with port systems in FXT/LGP/SOU
- Highly organised, methodical and has high attention to detail
- The ability to examine data and present in a cohesive manner, highlighting key findings
- The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Someone who is self-motivated, proactive, and able to problem solve
- A team player with a high level of dedication and wanting a fresh challenge
- Working knowledge of Driver Hours Regulations & experience within Health & Safety
- Exceptional communication skills, able to work across multiple departments
- Have a "can do" attitude
- Good geographical knowledge
- Strong administration skill with the ability to work with Word, Excel and Outlook
- Able to work on shift rotation between the hours of 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday
- Work a Weekend on call - 1 in 5
