The job itself
East Riding of Yorkshire and Hull City Council are seeking to appoint a Transport Partnership Manager to drive forward the development and delivery of both Councils’ Bus Service Improvement Plans and facilitate their Enhanced Bus Partnerships. The postholder will be employed by East Riding Council, in the Transportation Services team, but for an initial fixed term period to end March 2025 will spend 50% of their time working for Hull City Council. This arrangement will be reviewed and may be extended, but if discontinued, the post will continue as a full-time permanent position within East Riding Council’s Transportation Service.
We are seeking a transport professional with experience of working in the public and/or community transports sectors at senior management level and contributing to service development in a range of transportation contexts. A good working knowledge of the legislation and regulations governing public transport operations will be essential, as will experience of and a commitment to partnership working. Candidates should have a clear understanding of the expectations placed on local transport authorities by the Governments’ 2021 National Bus Strategy and the legislative frameworks established in the 2017 Bus Services Act.
