Norfolk & Suffolk NHSFT are offering a new and exciting role as Transport manager for the Trust. The role is wide ranging and is expected to absorb all transport related issues some of which are detailed below.

The post holder will act as the principal liaison and contract manager for operational issues between the Trust and its transport service contractors and providers, and to assist the Director of Estates and Facilities in managing the long-term transport strategy for the Trust. They will deal directly with our fleet provider and Technology provider and manage the contract and key deliverables on a regular basis including (where necessary) the negotiation of contractual terms.

The post holder will be the Trust’s specialist responsible for the management of the Trust’s business fleet which includes personal lease cars, business use only vehicles, Salary Sacrifice vehicles and Grey Fleet Management.

The post holder will also be responsible for managing other transport related activities and contracts such as the Taxi contract and internal and external distribution / courier services

The post holder will ensure that our Trust’s transport operations are efficient and provide good value for money and are aligned to our “Green Plan”.

Act as the Trust’s main point of contract for all fleet-related issues.

Provide a comprehensive financial monitoring system for the motor fleet service, and ensure best value for money is obtained for the Trust. This will require extensive knowledge and negotiation over both cost and service.

Responsibility for the maintenance of a motor fleet that complies with all statutory requirements, including MOT, road fund licence and insurance compliance. In addition, to be responsible for ensuring that fleet vehicles used to transport Service Users and staff are appropriate.

Develop and maintain all Motor Fleet policies and procedures. This will include acting as principal lead on development of services relevant to Trust policy to include:
1. Pool car and Car bookings
2. General Fleet Management for vehicles owned by the Trust
3. Other commuting and travel information
4. Grey fleet administration

Development, management and monitoring the efficient usage of Trust delivered Pool vehicles in support to clinical and corporate teams.

To be the point of contact in regards of Trust fuel cards and the supplier and be responsible for monitoring he fuel card budget and provide information as required. This will include liaising with enforcement bodies in relation to fuel card misuse should this occur.

Manage external contract management with approved suppliers and to be the Trust’s principal contact for any external taxi contracts.

Responsible for the oversight and management of the distribution / courier services both in-house and external contract.
