Job description
At Gregory Distribution Ltd, we have a vacancy for a Transport Manager based at our Hereford Depot.
The position will involve:
- Oversee the resourcing, organising and supervising the transport activities.
- Responsibility for all operational and legal compliance.
- Leading and motivating a team of circa 80, including drivers and office staff.
- Support for the Operations Manager on both local and group objectives.
- Additional training with Drivers on vehicle checks, company processes, infringements, CPC being kept up to date.
- Keeping Drivers Induction records, CPC records, licence checks and on the job training up to date.
- Deal with Key Contacts within our customer base.
- Producing KPI’s for the Business Area and presenting them to the Operations Manager.
- Set objectives and measure relevant financial and operational KPI’s to Operations Manager.
- Identifying peaks and troughs within the Business Area and identify areas of improvement.
- Identifying any areas that are underperforming and put in place strategy plans for improvement.
- Monitoring and auditing Health and Safety and compliance.
- Meeting on the regular basis with Transport Supervisors to ensure these areas are operating as efficiently as possible.
- Attends customer reviews, producing statistics as required for these meetings.
- Performing 1-2-1’s on a regular basis with direct reports.
- Conduct annual PDR interviews with direct reports.
