Due to recent growth, we are recruiting for an experienced Transport Coordinator to join our busy Transport department working on the A456 Heads of the Valley scheme.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy Transport environment, being able to multitask and make quick decisions under pressure. Excellent communication skills are a must; you will work closely with the Logistics Manager and site foremen to Coordinate a fleet of 8-wheel tippers than can fluctuate in size from 20 to 50 dependant on the workload. You will also need to be self-motivated and be able to prioritise your own workload accordingly in busy periods.
This is a full-time site-based position working 10 hours per day Monday to Friday, covering core site hours of 0700 to 1700.
Reporting to the Department Transport Manager, the main duties will include;
· Managing driver workloads using our Waste Management System in line with the requirements of the Logistics Manager and site foreman.
· Liaise with the Transport Team to ensure there is enough resource in place to cover the volumes called off by the Logistics Manager and site foremen.
· Communicating effectively with the drivers and manage their progress throughout the day.
· Ensure that all own drivers and subcontractors are using the in-cab technology to accurately record their daily workloads.
· Daily KPI reporting to the Transport & Contracting Teams.
· Liaise with subcontractors and lead drivers to build a successful working relationship for the smooth running of the scheme.

Essential experience and skills;
· Proactive and positive
· Dynamic approach (A big part of this role is being able to make lots of changes in a short period of time, for them all to be changed again hours after).
· Microsoft Office - Excel, Outlook, Word
· Previous experience working in a busy transport environment.
· Excellent communication.
· Attention to detail whilst working under pressure.
Desired experience;
· Experience using Weighsoft or similar waste management software.
· An extensive knowledge of WTD and HGV Drivers’ hours.
· Transport Manager CPC.
