Our Lutterworth site are now recruiting for a Transport Planner on a full time basis.

Shifts: Sunday – Thursday 22:00 – 06:00
Salary: £33,942 (plus £2,000 night allowance)


Job Description


The purpose of a Transport Coordinator you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day planning of the transport operation, through the efficient planning of the transport operation.

  • Key Duties of a Transport Planner:
  • Utilising route planning software to create efficient delivery routes to both customer and factory locations.
  • Managing daily workload, ad-hoc challenges and queries by telephone, email and teams from our customer, sub-contract hauliers, our own team and the customers factories.
  • Working with our transport and administration teams to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times.
  • Maintaining, creating and updating spreadsheets and databases for financial reporting and customer reports.
  • Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that arise.

Qualifications
  • The ability to work confidently within a team
  • CPC holder preferable
  • Knowledge of transport planning in a radial & direct delivery environment
  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of transport planning expertise in a busy environment.
  • Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills
  • National network experience advantageous
  • Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale.
  • Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working to meet business requirements
  • Be able to communicate well at all levels within the business.
