We’re currently recruiting for Transport Controllers to be based at our customer sites in Sherburn in Elmet, and Eggborough, North Yorkshire for our transport operations . You will be working across a Monday – Friday shift pattern.
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £27,750. We offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
Co-ordinate the transport operations on site and on customer premises to meet both customer and company expectations- Ensure vehicle defects are reported and actioned in a timely manner
- Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the working time directive regulations and that any accidents/incidents are investigated in a timely manner
- Continually look to improve the service we provide offering ideas and recommendations as necessary.
- To build and maintain a strong partnership with the transport functions and drivers to ensure regular communication is delivered.
- Driver brief and de-briefing as well as data entry of statistics, customer reports and KPI’S
What you need to succeed at XPO:
Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders- Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook
- Good administrative skills
- Have a positive can-do attitude
- Experience working in a Transport role would be desirable
- Being proactive in identifying and resolving any potential issues before they occur
