About this role
The Transport Compliance Manager is responsible for the continuous and effective management of all transport operations; including overseeing the fleet department to ensure a leading level of compliance and continued FORS accreditation.
- Induct all new vehicles on the fleet and exit any vehicles being removed from fleet.
- Record, investigate and respond to all transport-related infringements, claims & complaints.
- Manage and maintain the company’s Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) and Construction Logistics and Community Safety (CLOCS) accreditations.
- Ensure that vehicles and trailers that are not roadworthy are taken out of service.
- Notify the Traffic Commissioner of all convictions and relevant business changes in accordance with operator licence requirements.
- Ensure that the number of vehicles and trailers kept at operating sites does not exceed the maximum numbers authorised at each centre.
- Control all company transport related policies and procedures.
- Take a key role in managing health and safety across the companies transport operations.
- Ensure all vehicles are duly taxed or SORN
- Final sign-off of all driver license checks and tachograph infringements.
- Manage the staff within the Fleet (Compliance) Department ensuring that all systems are maintained at the correct standard and procedures are completed in line with the companies’ policies.
- Reporting of all KPI’s to senior management.
- Complete documented periodic audits of all operator licensing undertakings and management systems.

- Transport Managers Certificate of Professional Competence
- Experience of managing a large fleet of vehicles and drivers
- Must be a FORS Practitioner and have had previous experience in being responsible for a companies accreditation.
