Job description
To deputise for the Head of Transport in his/her absence.
To assist the Head of Transport in maintaining vehicle related schedules for insurance, taxation, and other legal documentation, etc. Problem solving in connection with vehicle service. Providing a point of contact for all transport services within the Health Board. Supporting new initiatives introduced into the Health Board Transport Department. Delegation and supervision of staff (where applicable). Security of office/ prime legal records/documentation. Assist members of public and Health Board staff in travel related matters. Attend transport related meetings when required. Promote and assist in the delivery of the Health Board’s Sustainable Transport and Travel Plan.
- Maintain computerised databases for all invoices and charging issues, verification prior to authorisation and payment. Ensuring databases for invoices, cross charging issues, staff multiride tickets, vehicle service, taxation, ambulance transport incidents/patients complaints etc., ensuring Data Protection Act and confidentiality.
- To act as point of contact for Health Courier Service daily service activities and failures. This service includes the transportation of clinical specimens for analysis, mail, medical records, confidential documents etc.
- To promote and assist in the delivery of the Health Board’s Sustainable Transport and Travel Plan.
- Process orders for fuel cards. Run and distribute monthly fuel transaction reports dealing with queries as appropriate.
- Assist in the management of motor insurance claims liaising with Health Board user departments and Health Board’s contracted insurance provider.
