The T&S Commercial Operations organization works in partnership with T&S to deliver capabilities that enable them to “run” the business, as well as build capabilities that “change” the business. T&S is a highly complex and challenging organisation and is constantly balancing, risk with growth.

The T&S transformation will enable both improvements in risk management and delivery of growth. Some of the key areas of focus are around -

5. Functional support

What’s the role?

The T&S Transformation & Program Delivery (TPD) team are accountable for accelerating the successful delivery of the T&S Projects that enable the T&S Strategy, acting as a custodian of the overall Programme & Project agenda for T&S and enabling prioritisation and building the transformational / project capability across the T&S organisation.

The TPD team are a fairly new, highly driven team of transformation, Project management and PMO experts focused on delivering real solutions, that add business value and help drive the T&S agenda forward.


As the Operations lead, you will be expected to lead a team of delivery experts and drive delivery discipline across the T&S Transformation Program through:

  • Centre of Expertise (CoE) on Transformational delivery.

    • Setting a fit for purpose T&S Project Delivery Framework; continuously update the framework based on learnings and/or (external) best practices; upskill/educate delivery resources across T&S on the framework to build project capability and ensure excellent delivery.

    • CoE – Setting a fit for purpose change management framework; continuously update the framework based on learning and/or (external) best practices; upskill/educate delivery resources across T&S on change management and ensure project outcomes are embedded in the organisation.

  • Integrated Reporting – Oversee and monitor project delivery of all cross T&S projects (with support from a reporting analyst) to ensure that cost, quality and delivery of projects are controlled, and targets achieved.

  • Integrated planning – support the GM T&S Transformation in establishing and maintaining the T&S project roadmap from each of the portfolios and early identification of potential cross T&S delivery constraints.

  • Integrated change management – support the GM T&S Transformation in driving an integrated change management for the T&S Transformation Program.

  • Project Prioritisation Forum (PPF) – ensuring the right data is available for the Project Prioritisation Forum (with support from facilitating the project readiness group (representatives of each function) that ensures projects are adhering to the project delivery framework.

  • Resourcing – accountable (through the T&S Resourcing Manager) for managing supply and demand of project resources (both internal and external resourcing)

Dimensions

  • Approximately 6 direct reports.

  • Member of the TPD leadership team.

  • Complex transformations (multiple LoBs/Functions with different requirements/expectations, large program teams, complex problems, significant budget).

  • Support T&S Transformation GM in governance forums with T&S LT/Shell Executive Committee.

  • Overall assurance of project delivery of all cross T&S projects

What we need from you

We’re keen to hear from individuals who have as many of the following as possible:

  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management and engagement skills. Credible and skilled in obtaining sponsorship, buy-in and can influence stakeholders at senior levels in the organisation.

  • Experience with managing difficult conversations with senior stakeholders around challenges in the program (e.g., non-compliance to the agreed delivery framework, performance issues etc.) under tight timelines.

  • Extensive experience and a successful track record of creating, driving, and delivering complex change and business improvement programmes at large scale. Experienced in managing multiple project portfolios and relationships (internal and external) simultaneously across a global organisation.

  • Desirable to have professional qualifications in project management (e.g., PRINCE 2, P30) and change management.

  • Desirable to have a good understanding of the complex system, data, and processes in Trading.

  • Experienced in leading and developing senior multi-functional, diverse teams, incl. 3rd parties.

  • Excellent analytical skills and strong strategic problem-solving skills.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity that the trading environment brings and can work in a high-pressured Trading environment and make decisions under pressure.
