Hours: 35 Hours, Monday – Friday

Location: In person at Saltmeadows Road, Gateshead

We are looking for:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transcription Production Assistant position within our Transcription Team.

We are looking to recruit self-motivated individuals that can rise to the challenge of working within a fast paced environment and enjoy working in a supportive team.

The Transcription Team transform standard documents into accessible formats for blind and partially sighted people. All the important correspondence you get through your letterbox, we are responsible for making accessible. You will be part of the team that extracts the information/text from these documents and formats into either Large Print, Braille, Audio or EasyRead.

Reporting to a Transcription Team Leader your main responsibilities will include:

  • Producing a range of alternative formats including Large Print, Braille and Audio within the Microsoft package and other in-house programs to client specific requests
  • Working with speed and accuracy whilst maintaining agreed quality standards
  • Assisting automated production routes and delivering feedback to Team Leaders on any non-conformances
  • Scanning documents through OCR software to deliver data to colleagues
  • Proofing other colleagues work for any non-conformance

What you’ll need to succeed in this role

  • The ability to work in a production environment
  • The ability to use machinery, equipment and software including Microsoft applications
  • Experience of working to Service Level Agreements
  • Experience of implementing process improvements
  • Experience of training other members of staff and giving relevant feedback
