Description of role and key responsibilities
This role is to support the Banking Operations Transformation Lead and Head of Banking Operations in delivering the care and maintenance of our Transactional products and processes, ensuring they are running in line with the relevant compliance and regulatory considerations.
What are the primary responsibilities of the role?
- Support resolution of Banker and business-related queries in relation to transactional banking services
- Act as conduit into Third Party Management Team for escalation of any servicing issues from outsourced providers
- Help drive the transition away from paper-based tasks in the Banking Operations Team onto automation or exit
- Understanding and occasional execution of the completion of excess management tasks in line with process and regulation
- Implementation of process efficiency opportunities
- Point person into Technology and Third-Party Management Team for completion of all regulatory reporting, such as Tax, FSCS etc (for Digital and Analogue Teams)
- Support oversight of Banking Operations reconciliations to ensure outstanding items are cleared in timely manner and any associated risks appropriately escalated
- Involvement in incident management in partnership with Third Party Management team on any Incidents impacting Banking Operations services or processes
- Deputise when required at Group FSCS and HNW Private Clients Insights Forums following up on actions as required
- Support CSC and UK Services in designing and implementing new or enhanced processes
- Review complaints relating to Transactional Banking Products and work with appropriates to identify root causes of issues and implement enhancements to prevent a reoccurrence
- Review card declines to identify root causes and work with various internal teams and external vendors such as Visa and FIS to drive solutions and enhance client experience
- Deputise for the Banking Operations Transformation Lead in meetings and projects ensuring Banking Operations are represented and required input provided.
- Vulnerable Clients Quarterly and Annual reviews (Transaction Banking/Lending/Savings/Fraud/Fin Crime)
- Oversight of FSCS annual eligibility statement
- Co-ordination of annual Statement of Fees process
- Oversight of annual BBSI Reporting for Private Bank
- Oversight of PB FATCA/CRS annual submissions
- Oversight of annual ISA returns
- Oversight and coordination of interest certificates
- Collaborate with Operation risk & Legal to ensure all processes have appropriate controls and minimise risk with processes
- Oversight of and deputise where necessary the repeat-use forum
Core skills and knowledge?
- Strong and detailed understanding of Transactional Banking products, operations, and processes
- Sound understanding of UK card environment and risks.
- Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
- Ability to influence at all levels using data and fact-based evidence to support views
- Ability to build strong working and professional relationships both internally and externally
- To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly
- Understand and follow all relevant compliance considerations including the regulatory environment and appropriate processes, procedures
- Able to identify any relevant business risks and escalate them accordingly
- Knowledge of the banking environment in the UK
- Experience dealing directly with clients and maintaining client relationships, within a service environment
