Continuous Improvement Manager – Refresco UK - Milton Keynes

Refresco the world’s leading independent soft drinks manufacturer seek an agile, passionate, engaging, Continuous Improvement Manager to identify, lead and execute the continuous improvement strategy via lean six sigma methods for our highly automated, growing, drinks canning manufacturing site at Refresco Milton Keynes.

About the Role

As Continuous Improvement Manager you are a key member of the site team, responsible for defining and leading the operational excellence (PEX) programme at Milton Keynes, identifying multiple opportunities to improve production efficiency (OEE) and reduce waste.

You will have many continuous improvement projects in process at any one time following the standard methodology, you will be energetic, passionate about what you do and prepared to change direction at any point in a project to deliver the following PEX programme at MK:

  • Create a CI culture at the Milton Keynes site, creating a full toolkit of methods to improve the site OEE performance.
  • Evaluate operational and financial data and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Project manage approved Continuous Improvement projects by coordinating all resources and monitoring progress and cost to the conclusion of the project.
  • Engage all your colleagues in continuous improvement, through training, coaching and leading effective CI meetings so they apply excellent lean techniques and methodologies.
  • Develop department KPI's (dashboards and control functions).

About You

You will need previous experience leading continuous improvement in a fast pace manufacturing environment, managing, and delivering multiple continuous improvement projects, ideally in Food or Drinks production, FMCG or Pharmaceuticals.

You will ideally have qualifications in Lean Six Sigma, black or green belt, but this is not essential, but you will need a TPM background if you don't have formal lean qualifications.

As the continuous improvement leader and on-site expert, you will need to be a great communicator so you can engage, train and coach all your colleagues in the CI PEX programme, translating CI techical language into simple, easy to understand terms.

There is lots of excellent performance data available, but your skill is also to analyse the data, drill down and identify key actions.

You will also need strong influencing skills, so you can persuade and negotiate to push your ideas for improvement through both with senior managers, leadership team colleagues and colleagues on the factory floor.
