Job Title: Learning & Development Consultant
Location: Birmingham or Manchester
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 9:30am - 5:30pm (Flexibility required)
Purpose of the role
- To provide value added learning solutions to the firm
- To provide a breadth of learning solutions that focus on developing sales competence across the firm
- To support the Firm’s wellbeing agenda through providing appropriate learning interventions
Main duties and responsibilities:
Learning Design and Delivery
- Working with the Learning and Development team on the design and delivery of in-house training solutions
- Working with the Learning and Development team on the design and implementation of Practice Group / Business Support function specific development activity
- Jointly responsible for the delivery of in-house Pinsent Masons Academy workshops
- Responsible for ensuring that all development workshops are evaluated, followed by discussion with the Learning and Development Manager to ensure continuous improvement for all relevant training activity
- The provision of specialist L&D expertise and advice to HR Business Partners and colleagues from Practice Groups and Business Operations teams
- Support Line Managers in their management of staff with practical L&D solutions, ensuring they understand the options available to them to more effectively engage with and manage staff
- Provide advice on relevant L&D policies and practice, with particular support for the firm’s Performance Management processes
- Where necessary, conduct efficient learning needs analysis and provide forward thinking and practical L&D solutions
Business and Sales Skills
- Work with specialist teams across the firm to provide learning support for firmwide business development and sales initiatives
- Where necessary, work with key members of the Business Development teams to conduct efficient learning needs analysis to provide bespoke learning solutions
- Responsible for ensuring all business development and sales skills offerings are properly evaluated to ensure continuous improvement
Wellbeing Learning Programmes
- Work with specialist teams across the firm to provide learning support for firmwide wellbeing initiatives
- Where necessary, conduct efficient learning needs analysis and provide forward thinking and practical L&D wellbeing solutions
- Responsible for ensuring all wellbeing offerings are properly evaluated to ensure continuous improvement
- Work with specialist teams across the firm to provide learning support for firmwide wellbeing initiatives
Digital learning Programmes
- Work with the Head of Learning and the L&D team to design SCORM compliant digital learning solutions and programmes where needed and where our online digital learning provider is unable to provide the solution
- Manage the delivery of digital learning solutions that are focused on business skills, business and sales development and wellbeing
- Responsible for ensuring all digital learning offerings are properly evaluated to ensure continuous improvement
- Work with the external digital learning provider on ensuring their LMS content is relevant and fit for purpose, as well as working with them to ensure the right content is available for the right audience
Role Interactions
- Talent Manager – there will be a need for strong and constant collaboration between this role and that of the Talent Manager in relation to providing learning support for performance management processes and best practice
- Diversity and Inclusion Manager – in order to progress the D&I strategy as led by the D&I Manager, there will be a need to collaborate and provide learning solutions in the D&I space
- Responsible Business Team – this relationship will focus on offering linked up learning solutions around the Wellbeing agenda
- Business Development Team – the firm has a large and established BD team; this relationship will focus on ensuring any sales related training is mapped into the processes, procedures and materials provided by the BD team
Person Specification
Qualifications:
- Degree educated or equivalent
- Extensive training and L&D experience
- Demonstratable experience of sales training, wellbeing training and support
- Proven digital learning design experience
