Contract: Permanent – 37.5 per week - Monday to Friday

Salary & Benefits: £45,000 - £50,000 based on experience

Reporting to: Head of People & Culture (HPC)

Job Brief:

The Wellbeing & Learning Manager will be responsible for developing, leading and delivering a wellbeing and benefit programmes that support employees across two offices and 16 Houses. In addition, to a separate programme for the HF Holidays’ (Society) volunteer walk and special interest programme leaders.

You will design and deliver learning / training sessions covering onboarding, induction, employee relations, management skills and supporting wellbeing.

Provide support and lead on employee relations matters, as required. Support the delivery of people-related activities that help to create an exception working experience and culture of its staff.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Wellbeing and benefits

  • Lead on the exploration, recommend and implementation of best practice for the reward and recognition of staff.
  • Create a learning and development programme for our people, utilising multi-media formats and the latest learning practices.
  • Devise and drive twice yearly Wellbeing Month events.
  • Create a calendar of events to support teamwork, knowledge-sharing and wellbeing.
  • Work with the HPC and the Risk & Safety experts to deliver the next steps and activities identified the Mental Health & Wellbeing survey.
  • Support our people in the creation of objectives and development plans that drive their careers while delivering Society business goals.
  • Work with the Payroll & Benefits Manager to explore best practice for benefits, which are dynamic and flexible, and relevant to Society’s team members. Present proposals and recommendations to the SMT for consideration, then lead the implementation of outcomes.
  • Arrange regular catch-up and update sessions with the Society’s Mental Health First Aiders and a continued engagement programme.
  • Work with the Payroll & Benefits Manager to explore external partnerships opportunities to build new programmes and benefits for staff.
  • Working with HR team members relaunch the Society’s on-boarding and Induction programmes for employees and volunteer Leaders.
  • Be the main point of contact for the Borehamwood Office to report minor issues relating to access, heating/lighting, ensuring the kitchen is stocked. In addition, to utilising opportunities to create themed events and fun activities for staff.

Cultural excellence

  • Support the launch and delivery to the Society’s People Strategy, including engagement, understanding and onboarding sessions.
  • Be actively involved in the launch, delivery and embedding of the Society’s EDI and Sustainability plans.
  • Create and embed a Talent Development/Progression Programme.
  • Create a coaching and mentoring programme that supports the development of others.
  • Work with the Resourcing Manager and wider teams to utilise targeted marketing and candidate attraction strategies to source high calibre diverse applicants. Helping to ensure candidates/potential employees are clear on the Society’s brand, values and employee offer.
  • Support the creation, launch and delivery of an Annual People Survey.
  • Lead on analysing Society team member data, producing analytical reports for the SMT, and the Board of Directors, as required.

Human Resources

  • Provide generalist HR expertise and guidance on ER /people-matters, including: disputes, performance, disciplinary, and/or grievance.
  • Provide recruitment and interview guidance, and training to Interviewers, as required.
  • Support the review of policies, contracts and procedures to ensure they support gender equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Support the launch and deliver a new Annual Review Process.

Key Skills, Experience & Knowledge:

  • Led the exploration, creation and launch of other wellbeing and culture programmes.
  • Demonstratable transferable knowledge and experience of working in a similar position, including the creation of learning and development programmes.
  • Previously created and successfully launched a Talent Development programme.
  • Demonstratable experience coaching, motivating and relationships with others.
  • Good HR and employment law knowledge, and actively works to keep their skills up to date.
  • Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy.
  • A genuine team player with a passion for sharing knowledge and building the best work experience for others.
  • Strong organisation skills, including proven management of a demanding workload, identifying priorities and working to deadlines.
  • Excellent people and influencing skills enabling strong relationships and networks to be built and maintained, externally and internally.
  • Ability to find creative solutions, offering guidance and recommendations.
  • Excellent communications skills (both written and oral).
  • Flexible in working hours.
