A great opportunity has become available for a Head of Learning Support.
The key requirements of the role are:
- To ensure the college meets its statutory responsibilities with regards to the 2014 SEND Code of Practice and the 2010 Equality Act.
- To act as the college lead for all Education, Health and Care Plan consultations, including identifying whether the college can meet individual needs, liaising with county councils to agree placements and providing estimates of delivery costs
- To lead an inspirational and high performing Learning support team
- To manage the initial assessment screening, exam access, interview and review process for all students who disclose a learning support need.
- To have the ability to work well as part of a team and collaborate with others.
- To be a good listener, facilitator of learning, motivator, advocate and role model
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, show empathy, be an active listener, value diversity, be a motivator of others and be able to role model professionalism. A good level of digital literacy is essential to be able to drive forward assistive technology
You will work collaboratively with students, parents/carers, curriculum and business support teams and external partners
