Key purpose of job
The purpose of the role is to:
1. Design, plan and deliver training in all aspects of safeguarding, child protection and SEND to a variety of practitioners in schools and other educational settings
2. Lead and manage safeguarding and SEND reviews and audits in early years, primary and secondary settings and across MATs
3. Support the delivery of our continuing professional development (CPD) packages
The role will require expertise in delivering high quality online and in-person training and a clear understanding of how to support schools with their improvement, data analysis, curriculum design and other areas as appropriate.
The role will include a requirement to travel across England and stay overnight to deliver in-person training, perform in-school audits/reviews and attend team meetings so a driving licence and access to a car is desirable.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
· Train a diverse range of education practitioners in all aspects of safeguarding, child protection and SEND
· Keep up-to-date with all statutory frameworks, requirements and best practice for safeguarding and SEND
· Expand, develop and update training content for safeguarding, child protection and SEND
· Lead safeguarding and SEND audits and reviews across a broad range of educational settings, including nursery, primary, secondary and MATs
· In collaboration with other team members in Training, Development and Consultancy, develop and create new training content across the entire early years, primary and secondary proposition
· Provide an informed perspective on issues relating to teaching, learning, curricular balance, assessment, the recording and reporting of achievement, governance and self-evaluation
· Contribute to our customers self-evaluation processes through departmental, curriculum area or aspect reviews
· Contribute to Juniper revenue generation targets, as directed, through its programmes of training, CPD, consultancy, and to contribute positively to the sales and marketing process
Key attributes and competences
· Recent experience in an educational setting
· Qualified teacher status (desirable)
· Excellent IT skills
· Recent professional development and a commitment to continuing professional development
· A minimum of 2 years experience in promoting and safeguarding children's welfare
· Demonstratable experience in delivering high quality, interactive training both in person and virtually
· Be confident in providing feedback and having robust conversations with others about their settings practice
· Have delivered training to those who work regularly with children, young people and adults who are parents/carers
· Successful experience of working with a diverse customer base and of designing solutions to meet changing customer needs
· An understanding of the statutory requirements around education, safeguarding, child protection and SEND including inspections and a desire to keep abreast of changes
· Understanding of current educational issues and practice
· Able to demonstrate leadership which led to measurable and sustained improvements in an educational setting
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
