TRAINEE UPHOLSTERER

D J Diment Upholstery in partnership with Soane Britain is seeking a workshop trainee to join our small upholstery team. The successful applicant will work alongside our Master Upholsterers, assisting them in bespoke fine chair making. We are seeking a full time, recently trained upholsterer or someone with up to 3 years’ experience to join the established workshop.
You will receive full training and mentorship from highly skilled craftsmen who are making fine handmade upholstered furniture using high quality and sustainable materials.
Due to the nature of the small team at the workshop the role will require a can-do attitude and the candidate must not be afraid to get stuck in with the task at hand, be enthusiastic and self-motivated. This role is suitable for someone with an eye for detail and the ability to achieve the excellent standards for which the workshop is well known.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Working with our highly skilled upholsterers you will be trained in the traditional and modern upholstery methods, after a lengthy training period, you will be responsible for completing your work on time, to specification and to the highest quality. As a member of the team, you will also assist in ad hoc workshop tasks including tidying, moving and stocking up on materials. You are responsible for your own health and safety and of your colleagues.
Qualifications for the Position:
· A Diploma or other qualification in upholstery.
· Ideally 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
· An enthusiasm for furniture making, willingness to learn and develop new skills.
· Hard working and reliable with an excellent attention to detail.
· Quality focused with good levels of concentration.
· Possessing a good work tempo and motivation.
· Takes a safety conscious approach to work with an understanding of the safe use of workshop machinery, hand and air tools.

Monday – Thursday 8am-5pm
Friday 8am-1pm
