Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Therapy Services have an opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join our Musculoskeletal Outpatient Therapy team, based predominantly at St Luke’s Hospital working to provide hydrotherapy services.
You will need to possess, or be willing to train towards, a level 2 qualification in healthcare. The predominant role will be supporting patients receiving hydrotherapy alongside other therapy staff. Once trained and competent; you may also carry your own patient caseload. You need to be able to support and motivate patients to enable them to recover from illness and injury and regain independence which can include both adults and children.
You will need to be an excellent communicator and demonstrate the willingness to learn new skills. The job is very “hands on” and involves actively supporting patients with exercises or practising functional activities.
You will be working alongside physiotherapists and occupational therapists in our hospitals, to provide excellent care to our patients that are under the care of the Musculoskeletal team.
You will need to be able to support clinical staff to ensure the day to day running of the department is successful. This will involve some administration tasks, as well as cleaning and equipment and stock checks.
Hours: 18.75 hours per week. Working hours are variable dependent upon the team. Our team work on a Monday to Friday basis between 08.00am and 18.00 pm. Ideally the successful candidate will work Monday 8am-4pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. You must be able to transport yourself between sites when required.
