Our next cohort of trainee recruitment for September 2023 is now open and we are recruiting for 4 trainee solicitors. Wright Hassall can offer a structured learning/training path over 2 years and 121 support with your development into becoming a solicitor.
Role Purpose
To become legally proficient to qualify as a Solicitor after the Training Contract period and to deliver an excellent client service using efficient regulatory working practices.
Role Objectives
Support key events to help raise the profile of the Firm.- Provide marketing support e.g. writing copy and reports, updating literature.
- Ensure the execution of matters comply with internal policies and procedures to minimise breaches, claims and client dissatisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with SRA standards to safeguard our clients and support the Firm in maintaining its Practice Management standards and accreditations.
- Ensure clients receive accurate, up-to-date legal advice that takes account of their circumstances and represents "value for money”.
- Develop an understanding of how to run own caseload and ensure critical dates are met.
- Assist the more senior lawyers with routine transactions.
- Maintain the integrity of data in key platforms such as Lawsoft, Visualfiles, Worksite and InterAction by ensuring that they are updated in a timely manner.
- Undertake legal research both as requested and on own initiative.
- Ensure that own PDR, objectives and Training Log are updated in line with the Firm’s practices and policies.
- Ensure CPD is maintained.
- Ensure learning is in line with the SRA Practice Skills Standards and the Professional Skills Course (PSC) is successfully completed prior to qualification.
- Ensure timesheets are updated and posted on a daily basis.
- Achieve personal utilisation and realisation targets.
- All invoices to be raised on completion of the matter and where possible interim billing to be applied. Disbursements and other ‘expenses’ to be invoiced as and when incurred.
- Active management of lock up to industry best practice standards.
