Job description

rradar is a ground-breaking litigation and commercial law firm that uses legal privilege and expertise with digital tools to proactively educate, manage, advise and deliver business solutions to reduce business and legal risk.

Our Trainee Solicitor programme is at the heart of rradar’s culture, reflecting our mission to continuously nurture and develop talent, mentoring and supporting the next generation of lawyers to continue delivering and evolving the first class advice and service given daily to our clients.

The opportunity:

We are delighted to open our Trainee Solicitor application process, offering the opportunity to join us on a two-year training contract.

This is a great opportunity to build on what you have already learnt in your academic studies, through practical work experience and training, to prepare you for life as a lawyer. We will support and assist in your development to ensure that you get the most from your experience and help to progress your career at rradar.

We are offering a two-year training programme, which gives you access and experience to a diverse commercial client base across all industry sectors, ranging from small owner-managed businesses to large multinational corporates. You will be exposed to complex and high-profile clients, with mentorship from our lawyers and teams in both our Leeds and Hull offices, who have significant experience and expertise across specialist practice areas.

As a rradar trainee, you will experience four seats on a six-month rotation across both our Leeds and Hull locations, experiencing a mix of contentious and non-contentious work across a broad spectrum of commercial practice areas including our Legal Advice Service, Employment, Commercial Disputes, Business Crime & Regulatory, Intellectual Property and Cyber Data and Information Law.

Required skills:

You will be hardworking and committed, with flexibility, motivation and a drive to learn. You will demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to use your initiative, working well as part of a team and with a strong track record of managing and prioritising your own workload.

You will also have:

  • successfully passed your LPC or SQE1
  • received a minimum of a 2:1 degree in law or a 2.1 degree in a different subject followed by the PGDL

Work experience in a legal-based role would be desirable but is not essential.

How to apply:
