Job description
The London (re)insurance market is a unique place to work. With a history going back to the dawn of marine insurance in 1686, the market is an international hub and one of the most significant elements of the UK economy, generating annual premium income in the billions. When global companies have specialised or high value risks, the London market is where they come. Working as an (re)insurance lawyer in the City of London is unlike any legal job – in insurance or otherwise – anywhere in the world.
The team works on high value disputes, often worth over £100 million, on claims from around the world, on a range of lines of business from reinsurance to D&O to cyber insurance, and on disputes between insurers and their coverholders. It also drafts policy wordings, gets involved in teaching Lloyd’s underwriters about drafting contract wordings, and promotes thought leadership role within the market.
Keoghs Reinsurance team based in the Davies HQ on Gracechurch Street, in the heart of the London insurance district, is looking for a trainee to join its team to work alongside Partner Andrew Schütte. Flexible working is encouraged for the right candidate
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a 2:1 degree and will demonstrate a keen ability to learn, work hard and be a team player. The successful candidate will be given unique technical development opportunities, have a client facing role and be mentored throughout the training contract. There may be secondment opportunities according to business need.
The role is to start immediately.
