Job description

What will you be doing?
Oleeo is seeking an entry level developer who is a graduate, a graduate apprentice, or a self-taught professional looking to move into Software Development.
This is an incredible opportunity if you want to learn to develop an exciting, evolving product with outstanding mentorship in an entrepreneurial culture. We will ensure you receive quality training on your journey to becoming an all-round professional software developer.
It's a very hands-on role where you will make a real impact on the product early on and your responsibilities will grow during training.
You will be using the latest and best technologies and processes to develop next-generation online Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products for recruitment.
You will learn backend technologies such as Perl and databases, frontend development in JavaScript with modern Angular, and software development techniques including Test-Driven Development. Depending on your strengths and interests, you will be able to decide if you want to focus on the frontend or backend further down the road. You will also gain an understanding of the business’ motivations and product strategies as you learn to plan and manage your own work.
From the first day of your training you will be part of a wider software team with developers, designers, UX and product managers so interaction and responsibilities will grow as your coding skills grow.
This is a hybrid role with the expectation to be in Wimbledon HQ occasionally for company and team meetings. Occasional trips to this office in South London are required.
When working remotely, there will be regular pair programming sessions with screen sharing and collaborative IDE tools, mob code reviews and daily team standups. Your mentor will be available via chat and video calls during the day when you need help.

Key skills & experience

  • Must have some demonstrable experience of software programming, whether gained during education or personal time
  • Educated to degree level ideally
  • Curiosity and problem solving skills
  • Eager to learn
  • Demonstrable critical thinking and able to challenge effectively
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Evidence of problem solving and the ability to grok things
  • Able to work in the UK without any restrictions. Security Clearance may be required in the future for this role.
