Watkin Jones are proud to announce the introduction of the Watkin Jones Trainee scheme, this is a an exciting new initiative developed by the Group to support individuals through study and ongoing development within a commercial environment.

As a result, we are looking to appoint a number of Trainee Quantity Surveyors and provide support and qualifications to fulfil a role within the commercial team. With various quantity surveying qualifications available, we as an employer are committed to supporting successful individuals in gaining the necessary qualifications to further themselves and their career.

Broadly, the Trainee Quantity Surveyor will assist with the management of the commercial function for projects they are allocated. This will include practical quantity surveying tasks and activities, actions to support colleagues and appropriate administrative duties one would associate with commercial / quantity surveying practices in relation to construction projects.

As Trainee Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be working alongside Senior Quantity Surveyors meaning you will be given the opportunity to travel to various sites as and when required to learn more about the projects.

About You

You’ll have excellent communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail and numeracy skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is also a must. You’ll be an ambitious individual with long term goals to help take the organisation to the next phase of its evolution, wanting a career within the commercial function. All quantity surveying qualifications are subject to qualifying criteria.
