This is a great time to join us as we continue to grow in a very competitive industry. As part of the commercial team, you will assist on residential groundworks projects across the midlands, ranging in values from £1million to £20 million, covering anything from small works to major programmes.
Opportunity…
This is an entry level position in construction with training and development, to become a quantity surveyor. You will be providing day to day assistance to the commercial team, learning to manage all cost related aspects of construction projects. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Shadow senior team members to build up skills and knowledge of accurate costings for each aspect of site development.
- Build strong and lasting relationships with subcontractors, production teams and clients to achieve project timelines.
- Assist in the management of subcontractors including procurement packages.
- Liaise with site teams to ensure they have all information they need to complete work and resolve any project issues, as well as obtain records of day work sheets, labour etc.
- Work with numerical data to begin to understand evaluation of tenders and agreement of variations.
- General departmental administration.
- Ad-hoc duties to support the office & commercial team.
The Successful Applicant will…
- Hold a Level 3 Qualification such as A-Level/BTEC National Diploma or equivalent.
- Hold 5 GCSE’s (including Maths & English) at grades A-C/9-5.
- Hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
- Have strong communication skills.
- Be trustworthy, methodical, and conscientious.
- Have a consistent approach to deliver high standards.
