This job location is Langley, Slough

As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you'll work closely with our experienced Quantity Surveyors, and Commercial director to support our carpentry & joinery projects.

Your role will include:

  • Assisting with general construction project & tendering administration
  • Assisting in preparing tender documents, bills of quantities, and cost estimates
  • Assisting with performing take-offs from technical drawings and producing precise quantity surveys
  • Supporting in evaluating supplier quotations and proposals
  • Supporting the Quantity Surveyor in administering contracts, from booking in deliveries on site to issuing instructions and variations
  • Collaborating with other departments, including workshop production construction, to ensure project information is current and accurate

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate for this position would be an organised and ambitious individual who wants to learn a new trade, or transfer their existing skill set to develop into a new trade and professional role.

  • An interest in construction, particularly carpentry & Joinery
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ideally a trade background of some form would suit. The ideal candidate would be a carpenter or carpentry apprentice who doesn't want to work on the tools.

Training and Development:

Your training and development program to support your career progression as a surveyor will be monitored closely at Director level. As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you'll receive on-the-job training and mentorship from experienced Quantity Surveyors, as well as the opportunity to attend training courses if relevant.

Salary: From £21,000.00 per year

Education:

  • A-Level or equivalent (preferred)

  • surveying: 1 year (preferred)

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
