This job location is Langley, Slough
As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you'll work closely with our experienced Quantity Surveyors, and Commercial director to support our carpentry & joinery projects.
Your role will include:
- Assisting with general construction project & tendering administration
- Assisting in preparing tender documents, bills of quantities, and cost estimates
- Assisting with performing take-offs from technical drawings and producing precise quantity surveys
- Supporting in evaluating supplier quotations and proposals
- Supporting the Quantity Surveyor in administering contracts, from booking in deliveries on site to issuing instructions and variations
- Collaborating with other departments, including workshop production construction, to ensure project information is current and accurate
Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate for this position would be an organised and ambitious individual who wants to learn a new trade, or transfer their existing skill set to develop into a new trade and professional role.
- An interest in construction, particularly carpentry & Joinery
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ideally a trade background of some form would suit. The ideal candidate would be a carpenter or carpentry apprentice who doesn't want to work on the tools.
Training and Development:
Your training and development program to support your career progression as a surveyor will be monitored closely at Director level. As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you'll receive on-the-job training and mentorship from experienced Quantity Surveyors, as well as the opportunity to attend training courses if relevant.
