An opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Psychological Therapist to join our new and innovative Rehabilitation in Complex Psychosis Mental Health Team. The role involves enrolment on the postgraduate diploma in CBT for psychosis and bipolar at UCL; a 2-year course starting in January 2024. The first year focusses on learning CBT for a range of conditions, and the second year specialises in CBT for psychosis and bipolar. It will result in a substantive band 7 position in the Rehabilitation Team as a Psychological Therapist, subject to the successful competition of the PGDip. Further details about the course are available on the PGDip CBTp page on the UCL website. ***Applications will be considered from qualified CBT Therapists interested in completing the one year PGCert in CBTp at UCL*** Our service provides assertive support to adults with complex psychosis across Norfolk, to help them achieve their Recovery-focussed rehabilitation goals. The team is a multi-agency project, and along with NSFT colleagues (nursing, OT, psychology, psychiatry and pharmacy), we have fully-integrated substance misuse support from Change, Grow, Live (CGL), social workers from Norfolk County Council, recovery and peer support workers from Together, and mobile legal advice from Norfolk Community Law Service. Applicants must have a ‘core profession’ as identified by the BABCPORbe able to evidence relevant skills and experience using the KSA (please see details of this on the BABCP website). The service is currently based at Hellesdon Hospital in Norwich and covers Norwich, North Norfolk and South Norfolk. Travel will be required to see service users in locations that suit them. Furthermore the service is expanding to cover the Great Yarmouth & Waveney and West Norfolk areas. Following this expansion, the post holder will be required to cover the rehabilitation service in one or more of these areas as well. The post-holder will work to provide formal psychological intervention (CBT) whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. This intensive training post will equip the post–holder to provide a CBT service to service users with a range of complex presentations for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. The post-holder will work in the service for 4 days of the week using the newly developed skills, whilst attending the training programme for the other day. Clinical supervision will be provided by the 8b clinical psychologist in the rehab service.
