Job description
Our client, based in the Newark area are a leading manufacturer of products predominantly for the Marine and Construction industries are looking for plastic welders to join their ever growing team on a permanent basis.
About the Role
- At the start of a shift carry out safety checks and calibrate the welding guns as needed
- Read/review works orders
- Read and interpret CAD drawings and production specifications
- Plan the work and material required
- Follow production drawings either scaled or sketched
- Fabricate items from component parts in Polypropylene (PPC)
- Bend plastic parts using a heat bender
- Heat form parts using an oven and moulds
- Weld parts together using hot air and extrusion welding guns
- Prepare parts by deburring, drilling, and adding inserts as needed
- Finish parts on a table router if needed
- Assemble parts using a variety of hand tools
- Comply with all daily/weekly cleaning and maintenance routines for the welding guns and any other equipment used
- Meet production quality and output levels and make sure they are optimised at all times
- Maintain a safe and organised working environment by following company procedures and wearing appropriate PPE equipment
- Review material stock levels and generate/submit stock requisitions as needed
- Full training will be given

- About You
- Proficient in welding or from an engineering background
- 1 year of experience at a minimum in a production fabrication environment
The hours of work are 7am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday with overtime available
Pay rates start at £12 - £15 dependant on experience
All positions are permanent after a probationary period.
