Job description
Experience is not essential as full training will be given. The role provides a unique and exciting opportunity for those seeking a start in their legal career, joining us as we continue to grow, developing your legal skills with our exceptional training and continued guidance whilst receiving market rate salary and being able to participate in a generous staff share scheme.
As a Trainee Paralegal in our Claimant Personal Injury department, you will be representing our clients who have been injured or suffered a financial loss as a result of a road traffic accident to bring a claim against the Defendant for damages using court proceedings as and when required. The successful candidate will deal with a caseload of claims in which the other driver is disputing liability in full or in part for the accident from the commencement of the claim, up to and sometimes including trial. This can be a difficult time for our clients and therefore you will be there from the start of their claim, reassuring and empathising with them.
Aside from investigating the accident circumstances, you will be responsible for the investigation of our client’s claim for Personal Injury. If you are part of an injury team, your role will involve obtaining medical evidence in support of your client’s claim, valuing the injuries sustained. For both personal injury and losses only claims you will be responsible for gathering all of the required evidence in respect of the Claimant’s losses.
With your own caseload, you’ll advise your clients on the best course of action. In this fast-paced role, you’ll effectively manage and progress your own caseload using our in-house case management system (and in line with our key client measures), keeping clients informed of progress every step of the way.
