Salary: between £21,730 and £23,177 pa. NB depending on allocated employer there may be also a high-cost area supplement.

We are now recruiting talented, passionate, and committed individuals for our Trainee Nursing Associate programme in North Central London, delivered as a full-time workplace-based apprenticeship with a Foundation Degree at Middlesex University,starting in October 2023.
You will be employed in a North Central London healthcare setting – an NHS Trust, a General Practice, or a Nursing Home.
Employers offering this opportunity for the cohort starting in October 2023 are:
- North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust
- Whittington Health NHS Trust
- Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust–Learning Disability Services
- GP surgeries across North Central London– Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, Islington
- Two-year full-time apprenticeship combined with a Foundation Degree at Middlesex University, starting October 2023; this includes approx. 2,300 programme hours which are divided to achieve an equal balance of theory and practice learning. (Unfortunately a part-time opportunity is not currently an option)
- Allocation of a host NHS Trust, a General Practice, or a Nursing Home in North Central London.
- Chance to earn and learn WITHOUT building a tuition fee debt.
- providing personal care to patients of all genders
- performing and recording clinical observations such as taking people’s blood pressure, temperature, and pulses
- undertaking clinical tasks like venepuncture (puncturing veins as part of a medical procedure, for example to take a blood sample) and undertaking wound dressings
- supporting patients, their families, and carers when faced with unwelcome news and life-changing diagnoses
- discussing and sharing information with registered nurses on a patients’ condition, behaviour, activity, and responses
- ensuring the privacy, dignity and safety of individuals is maintained at all times
- recognising issues relating to safeguarding vulnerable children and adults
The North Central London Nursing Associate programme is run by a group of highly performing primary and secondary health care providers based in the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Camden, or Islington, and delivered in partnership with Middlesex University.
As an apprentice, youwill be hosted by one of the recruiting employers – for the October start this includes: North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust,Whittington Health NHS Trust,Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust-Learning Disability ServicesorGP Surgeries in North Central London.
You will be asked to indicate your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice of employer using a Survey Monkey link (https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/TNAOct23). NB your final placement will only be confirmed at the end of the recruitment process and be subject to availability of placements.
You will work full time without the need to pay any university tuition fees. You will also have access to a generous NHS pension scheme and employer-specific benefits.
At the end of the programme, you will be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes, and behaviours relevant to employment as a Nursing Associate and will work to a nationally recognised code of conduct. You will be able to work in any health and social care setting which could include a hospital, care home, general practice, mental health, and the community with adults or children.

Entry requirements
The programme is open to everyone (NB previous health care experience is helpful but not required). To confirm that you are eligible for the apprenticeship funding, you will need to:
- Provide evidence of Maths and English GCSEs (grade 9 to 4, grade A to C) or Functional Skills Level 2.You will need to submit copies of your certificates via the following linkhttps://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/TNAOct23. Only applications from candidates who have submitted evidence of eligibility before 5thJune 2023 will be considered.
- Prove that you currently live and have lived in the UKfor 3 years or morewith the right to work and study in England with no restrictions. Your right to live and work in the UK must cover the duration of the apprenticeship programme.
- Be able to commit to the full time programme
- Demonstrate the ability to study to foundation degree level 5 and commit to completing the apprenticeship
