Trainee Lighting Designer (FT, PT, Job Share)

Trainee Lighting Designer
Base location –Stoke (Hybrid working model)
Salary – £28,777 - £39,798

Here's what you'll be doing
Within this role you'll be trained to assist the design team in the production of external lighting solutions that comply with the relevant technical and commercial requirements.
You'll be learning to create solutions using standard & non-standard design principles, as well as supporting the Lighting and Grid business in delivering work for our Street Lighting PFI projects and existing customers in local authority and housing developer markets. You will also provide technical design support to the wider Highways Team.
At all times our customers are our priority and ensuring we meet customer service requirements. You will ensure the delivery of a flexible, high quality, customer focused and cost-effective service within the Highways activity.
Safety is always our priority and ensuring the highest appropriate standards of safety are met at all times and taking action accordingly.
The successful candidate will be put forward to attend the Institution of Lighting Professionals Exterior Lighting Diploma alongside on the job training. This will include a 1 week college residential per each module with 3 modules in total.

What we need from you
- Financial and commercial awareness.
- A pro-active and creative approach to problem solving.
- Oral and written communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to take a confident and diplomatic approach with staff, colleagues and customers.
- Numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and information and produce it in a clear and logical format.
- A working knowledge of mainframe and PC based computer systems and the ability to adapt quickly to changes to those systems.
- Computer skills.
It would be great if you have
- Experience of AutoCAD.
- Existing/previous experience of working within a Street Lighting environment.
