As a small family company, CWS Lifting & Safety Ltd has been providing specialist testing, inspection, maintenance, and certification for the lifting service industry for over 13 years.
It was founded in 2010 by Mr Clive Stewart and has built up a large clientele, based on word of mouth, promotions, knowledge, expertise and providing excellent customer service.

Due to an increased workload, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Trainee, Lifting Inspection Engineer. This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week. The salary will be discussed at the interview stage. As well as Lifting Inspection work there is a surplus of other tasks including, but not limited to, load testing, pull testing, occasional destructive testing, manning the rigging loft and inspection of lifting accessories.

WHAT WE’D LIKE:
- LEEA, (LEG )Lifting Equipment General, (LMM) Lifting Machine Manual
- Entry-level Engineering, Mechanics NVQ/City & Guilds desirable but not essential
- Experience with working in a testing environment
- Excellent eye for detail; good problem-solving ability and a practical approach
- Good communicator with the ability to analyse and impart knowledge
- Full training will be given but the experience of working within an engineering environment would be desirable
- Full UK driver’s licence
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· To answer the telephone in a polite & professional manner (a mobile will be provided)
· Time management
· Punctuality
· Able to work methodically, attention to detail
· Administration
· Keeping the workshop tidy
· Assisting in loading /offloading equipment
· Investigate faults and technical issues
· Working in a team
· Travelling and on occasions overnight stops (accommodation will be provided)
· Collections & deliveries
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Education Level – GRADE C OR ABOVE
· Experience – some experience would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
· Specific Skills - Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Apple Mac
· Driving License – Clean, Full driving license preferable but not essential
· Personal Characteristics: A friendly can-do attitude, assessing situations and making good sound decisions.
