Job description
What you'll do
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take the first step in their legal support career and join a busy and successful team.
The Property Litigation team is hugely successful and fast-growing. Over the years we have fostered strong relationships with many national developers and social housing providers and are currently members of a number of panels for the provision of legal services. The team is also regularly instructed by high-street retailers, national housebuilders, pension funds, local authorities as well as individuals and nationally recognised for the work it undertakes.
The culture of the team is supportive and inclusive, with lots of opportunities to get involved and learn.
Legal support is integral to the success of our lawyers and clients - joining as a Trainee Legal Support Assistant (Trainee Legal PA/Secretary) you will receive training and support from the existing and highly experienced support team. You will provide essential admin support, in particular helping to collate invoicing and client-specific reporting requirements, as well as general administrative duties such as copying and scanning. In time there will be the opportunity to progress to a Legal Support Assistant (Legal PA/Secretary) role within the team.
Who you are
You are passionate about providing an excellent level of support and have a 'can-do' and helpful attitude. You have a keen eye for detail, are keen to prove yourself in the role and to progress. You are eager to learn and understand the Firm's services and how we work with clients and support colleagues.
Ideally you will have some administration experience, not necessarily from a legal environment but some experience in a previous role will be helpful. Although not essential, some customer service experience would also be beneficial since, after a period of training, you can expect to have contact with clients.
Why join team Ashfords?
Ask our people, and they will tell you that they genuinely enjoy coming to work and spending time with their colleagues.
We're confident that once you discover our open and friendly culture, it won't take long for you to feel the same.
We have a genuine team approach at Ashfords because we know that when talented people work together, we achieve more for our clients and each other.
We also recognise that each of our career journeys is unique. So, we will be ambitious for you and give you the support you need to develop your career, your way.
Importantly, we will give you the space and flexibility for your life outside work too.
Our goal? To help you realise your full potential as part of a forward-thinking team and business.
That's what sets us apart.
Our Offer
We offer a range of benefits to support you at work and at home.
This includes a flexible working framework giving you the freedom to mix home and office working, extra annual leave for your birthday and the option to buy more holiday.
We have a comprehensive package to support physical and mental health including onsite yoga classes and a gym at our head office, healthcare plans, an Employee Assistance programme and free access for you and up to five friends to the 'Calm' Mindfulness App.
You'll also have the chance to get involved in our responsible business programme, including fundraising initiatives through the Ashfords Foundation and bringing your energy to our environment or diversity groups.
The salary for this entry level role is £20,645 per annum.
