Jackson Hogg are delighted to be working with an established law firm in Darlington on the appointment of a Legal Cashier. We are open to trainee legal cashiers at the start of their finance career.
THE ROLE:
- Supporting the Head of Finance to ensure compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules, Anti-Money Laundering Regulations and VAT Requirements
- Understanding and following the firms internal procedures
- Processing Incoming and Outgoing Client and Business Account transactions
- Daily Bank Reconciliations
- Bill Processing
- Checking and Processing Banking
- Issuing outgoing cheques
- Processing Outgoing BACS/CHAPS payments
- Taking card payments from clients over the phone and processing payments whilst maintaining GDPR standards
- Processing Write Offs
- Processing Purchase Ledger invoices and payments
- Assisting with Credit Control procedures
- Assisting with Petty Cash handling and reconciling
- Dealing with departmental incoming and outgoing post, scanning and filing
- Other ad hoc duties and providing cover for other cashiering tasks as and when required
- Full training will be provided along with the opportunity to complete ILFM Professional Diploma qualification

- Strong numerical and IT skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

- Ability to work to strict deadlines with fluctuating demands and high volumes

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £19,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
